• Finally got on Instagram. Starting off slowly as I’m learning the platform. Here’s my first video on Instagram.

  • A month ago, I gave my car’s engine bay some much-needed attention. I started by cleaning it with Phoenix E.O.D. Kraken, making sure to remove all the dirt and grime. Once it was spotless, I dressed the plastics and rubber parts with Phoenix E.O.D. Fenrir, diluted at 5 parts water to 1 part Fenrir.

Fast forward to today — one month later — and I’m genuinely impressed.

Even after enduring Phoenix’s summer dust storms, the engine bay still looks great. Yes, there’s a light layer of dust (because, well, Arizona…), but here’s the kicker:

The dust did not stick to the dressing. The plastics and rubber didn’t blotch or develop spots. The finish still looks even and fresh.

For me, this shows how well Fenrir holds up over time. It’s not just about that “day one” shine — it’s about keeping your engine bay looking good in the real world, even with harsh weather conditions.

  • Welcome to The Unpolished Detailer Blog – A DIY Auto Detailing Companion

    Hey there, fellow car enthusiast!

Welcome to the official blog of The Unpolished Detailer — a place where auto detailing meets honesty, trial and error, and a bit of good old driveway determination. If you’ve stumbled across this page from YouTube, or just searched “how to make my car shine without going broke,” you’re in the right place.

    Why This Blog Exists

This blog is a supplement to my YouTube channel, where I test, review, and sometimes fumble through various car detailing products and techniques. While my videos are great for visual demonstrations, this blog allows me to go deeper — and be even more transparent (sometimes painfully so) about what works, what doesn’t, and what I’d do differently next time.

    What You’ll Find Here

Here’s what you can expect on this blog:

    • Product Links & Tools Used: Everything I use in my videos — from cleaners and dressings to applicators and towels — will be linked here so you can easily find and try them for yourself.
    • Video Updates & Follow-Ups: Sometimes things change after the camera stops rolling. I’ll update posts with long-term results, better alternatives, or tips I learned the hard way.
    • Behind-the-Scenes Insights: Expect bonus content, extra tips, bloopers, or discoveries that didn’t make the final cut of the video.
    • Honest Reviews from a Non-Pro: I’m not a professional detailer — just a passionate DIYer learning and experimenting as I go. I share the wins and the fails, so you can learn from both.

Whether you’re just getting started in auto detailing or you’ve been at it for years, I hope this blog gives you some real value — or at the very least, a good laugh when I inevitably forget to rinse something off.
